We have limited power over the larger events of the world, but it doesn’t mean we have no power at all. In our own families, in our own circles, and in our communities, there are so many things we can do.

We've all been ambushed by "unwanted journeys" (a cancer diagnosis, the sudden death of a loved one, a house fire) and have had to accept, and play, the cards we've been dealt.

As I was finishing my journey on the Camino Francés in Spain, I got terrible news from home that our family had had a house fire.
