My new book is OUT!
My new book "Solo Camino: An Empowering Guide for Women" is now available!

Feeling Uninspired?
Honouring our commitment to writing isn't always easy but it definitely has emotional and practical payoffs.

The Gift of Inspiration
If you can clear the time in your schedule, a writing retreat will sprinkle magic onto whatever project you are working on. Not only is it a respite from life’s other responsibilities but it gives you a chance to focus for longer chunks of time and also to have the spaciousness to think in bigger picture terms.

Writing to Get You Writing

My Favourite Books on Writing
A long list of Renée's favourite books on creativity and writing.

The Spirit in Collaboration
Writing groups can be a place to share writing and gain insights into your work but they can also be a place of sacred collaboration, deep connection, and amazing conversations.

The Pull of Retreat
The Elizabeth Bishop House in Nova Scotia is an amazing retreat centre for writers and creatives. Read about my first visit there.

Realizing a Dream
My book is called Writing Your Way: A 40-Day Path of Self-Discovery. In a nutshell, it’s a guide that will lead you through a 40-day process of creative reflection, helping you discover, uncover, and move closer toward your own big dreams. Daily writing prompts are included to help you tune inside and find your own inner truth. I believe it’s this inner wisdom in each of us that inspires change, growth, forward momentum, and even full-on transformation.

What Wants to be Written
Like an underground stream that spontaneously surfaces, our inner self needs only an invitation. That invitation can come in the form of a long walk, a vacation or a retreat, a few hours at the beach, or the blank page and a pen.

In Praise of Simplicity
I can always choose to put my phone away. I can always choose to use an actual map rather than an app. I can always choose to do a paper crossword rather than playing a digital word game. And I can always choose to write a friend a real honest-to-goodness letter rather than sending an email.
Does this resonate with you too? Do you also revel in old-fashioned simplicity when it is offered to you?
